Today, some trolls invaded one of my Poison pose "deviations" and argued with me as to how I didn't know she's supposed to be a man. This person read into the description too literally, wanted me to spell out the word "transgender" instead of the "woman" specified in Capcom's official Street Fighter X Tekken website. I wasn't in the best mood at the time so I took this guy on, reiterated that I knew what the whole situation was with "her" without realizing I was getting into a senseless debate about a video game character! Yes, a video game character, a fictional being, someone who doesn't exist in real life, and therefore, pointless in arguing about. Capcom representatives themselves won't confirm Poison's gender, even though Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono earlier admitted she's a new half, only to retract it. It is a very sensitive subject to some, while I personally don't care due to reasons I stated above.
I'm deeply embarrassed that my new buddy, TRDaz got to see the whole thing.
So for those who saw me lost it all today, I deeply apologize. I should've got up from my computer, cooled my head, then replied with proof that would've prevented a long thread on that page. I've reposted that deviation to start again with a clean slate.
And oh, what's that lesson learned. A quote often associated with Mark Twain, whether right or not, sums it up the best:
"Never argue with idiots, they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience."
That is all. Have a good day, everyone!
